Jason Collins was born on December 2, 19798 in Northridge, California. He was born 8 minutes ahead of his brother Jarron Collins. Jason Collins full name is Jason Paul Collins. We don't know if he has any parents but we know that his twin brother is Jarron Collins. He grew up very poor when he was young. He was born with liking his own gender and is now gay. He went to school at Harvard-Westlake. The college that he went to was Stanford University which when he was an all-around when he went to Stanford University. He broke the Califronia Rebounding Record with 1,500 rebounds. He and his brother Jarron Collins were on the same team (Stanford cardinals) for there basketball team.
Jason Collins was drafted to the NBA in 2001 to the New Jersey Nets and is currently now on the Brooklyn Nets. The teams he was on was the New Jersey Nets, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards, and the Brooklyn Nets. He has 8 years of experience for the NBA. He is 7 feet tall now. His salary 1.352 million dollars and is number #98 on the Brooklyn Nets. He chose the number #98 because of Matthew Shepard who was gay and was beaten for it. The position he plays for the Brooklyn Nets is Center. He signed a 10 day contract to join the Brooklyn Nets.
Now Jason Collins plays for the Brooklyn Nets. A historical fact about Jason Collins was that he was the first openly gay person to be in the NBA or any other professional sport. He is currently 36 years old. Now he is getting low shots, blocks, and low rebounds. The thing that I like about him is that he is "gay" but still has the urge to play in the NBA.

Early
Life:
James Fred Blake was born on April 14, 1912 in America. Blake served in World
War II at the European theatre. Blake got a job as a Montgomery City bus driver.
He worked as a bus driver until 1974. Blake’s first incident with Rosa Parks was
in 1943 when Rosa violated the bus laws by not going around and going through
the back door. On her way out she dropped her purse and sat down in a white’s
only seat to pick up her purse. When Rosa got off Blake sped off leaving Rosa at
the bus stop.
Mid
Life:
When
Rosa Parks was getting on the bus, she didn’t know it was him until she paid her
fare. When she was sitting on the bus, James Blake told her to get up and move
somewhere else so a white person could get where she was sitting. Rosa Parks
wouldn’t give up her seat so Blake had her arrested in 1955. After that
incident James Blake didn’t want to show if face to anyone if they asked him
about it. He retired from being a bus driver in 1974. James Blake started
to have heart problems after he retired. A person named Kem Holley said that
“Mr. Blake was a kind and gracious man, always had a smile on his face and
always loved everybody.”
Late
Life:
It
was on December 1, 1955 when he kicked out Rosa Parks. This decision led to a
three hundred and eighty day long bus boycott. On 1974, he retired from his bus
driving career. He died because of a heart attack when he was 89. He is still
remembered today because he kicked out Rosa Parks from the bus which led to the
bus boycott, which eventually led to the African-Americans’
freedom.
