What is the conflict that Jerry has with himself in “President Cleveland, Where
Are You?”
The conflict that Jerry has with himself is man vs. self because Jerry doesn't know what to do with the money. His brother Armand wants Jerry to give the money to buy his dad a present but he wants to spend it on cowboy cards. Also he wants to win a baseball glove and Armand wants him to give him his money. "Who's more important, him or your father?"(p.92) "I sold it to Rollie Tremaine for five
dollars."(p.102)
What do you think Jerry used the $5 he got
from Rollie for in “President Cleveland, Where Are You?”
I think Jerry used the $5 dollars for Armand to get a corsage for Sally and new shoes to take Sally to the dance. "the small green box containing the corsage"(p.101)
