Chapter 4: Who has Won the Mastership
Discussion Questions:
1.) Describe Buck's qualities as the
new team leader. How is he similar to Spitz? How is he
different?
Buck is loyal, brave, and is a very strict leader. He is similar to Spitz by being strict. He is different by being loyal than Spitz.
2.) Describe the man in Buck's dreams. What is the
significant of these dreams? What is London trying to show us with these
dreams?
The man in Bucks dream is the man in the red sweater. The significant of these dreams is that he remembers the club hitting buck. London is showing us that we have to be good.
3.) What is the significance of Dave's death? Does it
remind you of any other work you've read or of any event from your life?
The significance of Dave's death is that even if he was hurt he wanted to keep going. It reminds me of that when I got hit by the ball I still walked to first base.

4.) Research "collective memory." Do you believe humans have this type of
memory? Why or why not?
collective memory means the memory of a group of people. I don't think humans have this type of memory because we all have our own memory. Also because God created us so we wont have the same memory. I also don't think that we have a collective memory because it means that a memory passed on from generation and we don't know how dinosaurs became extinct. Finally because I'm am sure none of us know what happened in the very old days before Jesus was born.
